ABOUT ME

My practice is currently looking at ways in which we could all find some peace in a hectic world.   My MA Fine Art degree show in August 2016 featured 7 pieces inspired by my own discovery of the benefits of mindfulness.  I work in several media.   As a web designer for many years, I started to work with digital manipulation and montage images nearly twenty years ago and more recently I have been experimenting with digital art on my tablet.   It is only very recently that I picked up a camera and my photography tends to be monochrome, abstract street photography or in a zen / contemplative / mindful style. I find expressing myself though art very therapeutic - I have tackled some difficult subjects that are hard to express in words by painting my feelings instead.   Much of my work is expressing feelings, even if the viewer sees something different to that which I intended.    I’m very pleased to be an Art Space Portsmouth member and an Aspex Gallery Associate. This year I gained Arts Council England funding for a project too!
